CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

Cleaning the DermaSensor™ Device

  1. Handheld Unit including touch screen and tip: Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with tap or distilled water to gently wipe and remove any particles, dirt, or debris, then gently wipe with a pre-saturated 70% isopropyl alcohol lint-free wipe. Allow the unit to air dry.  
    Recommended frequency: Before and after each lesion.
  2. Base Unit:  Unplug the unit from power, then use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with tap or distilled water to gently wipe and remove any particles, dirt, or debris, then gently wipe with a pre-saturated 70% isopropyl alcohol lint-free wipe.  Do not use any liquids on the inner recessed areas of the Base or tip-channel. Do not insert anything other than the device into the tip-channel. Allow the unit to air dry.
    Recommended frequency:  As needed.

Disinfecting the DermaSensor™ Device

  1. Handheld Unit including touch screen and tip: Use a CaviWipe or equivalent (eg. KaVoWipe) until the entire unit is visibly wet. Ensure the unit to remain visibly wet for 4 minutes by wiping with CaviWipe or equivalent. Additional wipes may be used. Wipe the unit with a sterile lint-free cloth that has been dampened with purified water to remove any remaining disinfectant.  Allow the unit to air dry completely.
    Recommended frequency: Before and after each patient.
  2. Base Unit:  Unplug the unit from power, then use a CaviWipe or equivalent (eg. KaVoWipe) until the entire unit is visibly wet. Ensure the unit to remain visibly wet for 4 minutes by wiping with CaviWipe or equivalent. Additional wipes may be used. Wipe the unit with a sterile lint-free cloth that has been dampened with purified water to remove any remaining disinfectant.  Allow the unit to air dry completely. Do not use any liquids on the inner recessed areas of the Base or tip-channel. Do not insert anything other than the device into the tip-channel.
